Beachy Keen

I've been working on a bridal shower for my friend and it has a beach theme. This of course is putting me less in the mood for cold, snowy winter and more in the mood for vacation time on the beach. I can't help but look for things to wear for summer. Pictures are going to have to last though considering it's only January. I'm jealous of all those Southern Californians right now.

What's A Name Got To Do With Anything?

The name of my blog is monograms and ballgowns and I thought I'd explain why I chose to call it this. When I was little I used to go to my friend Abbey's house. She had the most exquisite collection of dress up clothes imaginable. After I would leave Abbey's I would always wish that I could live at her house and play dress up with those clothes all day and night. Unfortunately though, I could not and instead went home to dress my Barbies. Hence the latter part of the name. Because I was so enthralled by dressing up I also was very interested in having tea time, a favorite of mine since the age of 3. Somehow I always pictured the Queen having tea with friends that she invited by way of monogrammed invitations. That is how I came up with the name. And now, I will show you some of my favorite new dresses and some of my favorite monogrammed products.

If there is one designer I love, one I could take with my to a desert island, it would be hands down, no doubt, I already knew my answer since forever, Stella McCartney. I love love love every design her brain can come up with and no, it's not because I'm a Beatles fan. Yesterday I saw a picture of Blake Lively in her thigh high boots and almost fell out of my seat. Not only do I envy every woman who can afford those boots but I envy Blake and her out of this world legs to carry off those boots. Man I want those boots.
